Camilla Hawthorne is a Presidential Management Fellow at the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the agency that oversees U.S. international broadcasting. Based in the Office of New Media, Camilla works with journalists to develop strategies for using social media, crowdsourcing, mobile phones, and other new media tools to deliver news and engage with audiences around the world. She has consulted with Voice of America, Radio Free Asia, and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, and is currently working for six months at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Prague headquarters. Camilla has experience collaborating with journalists broadcasting to countries as diverse as Venezuela, Cambodia, Russia, and Iran. She received a BA in International Relations and Africana Studies and an MPA from Brown University.
