Summary of the Problem

How can we use mobile technology to open communication channels between educational institutions and Palestinian students?

Proposed Solution

Finding a low-cost model meeting budgetary constraints that would locate potential clients/students that may or may not have knowledge of our services.

Technology to Solve the Problem

Using SMS to communicate with prospective clients/students, our organization would be able to reach individuals through an additional medium to target their needs.

Existing solutions or relevant links

Locally, FAST LINK and Souktel are other service providers that offer possible solutions.

Follow-on Actions

  1. Initially receive approval from management to begin pilot.
  2. Setup software.
  3. Staff training (general). Specialized training for those to take on role.
  4. Piloting with a test group, our organization will run both a controlled and uncontrolled groups to display the benefits of using SMS to increase the number of registrants,walk-ins, inquiries, etc. by:
    1. Marketing for uncontrolled group with radio to investigate response.
    2. Selecting control group from organization’s database and sending SMS to those interested in specific scholarship opportunities running at that particular time.
  5. Monitoring
