Problem Set Format -- Problema de Plantilla de Solución

Los conjuntos de problemas y soluciones suministran un metodo que detalle todo lo necesario para conseguir apoyo ante un problema critico al cual una ONG o una organizacion de base se enfrenta.

Summary of the Problem - Resumen del problema

Who can best undertake the mission of education but educators? Who can also motivate teachers? The problem is that many teachers already use technology but do not know to use it effectively. Many times there is money for training but the investments are wasted.

Improve professional development and training of teachers based on a framework forming a professional learning community among teachers. Educators know technology, and we teach it, but do we use it properly?

Although we have teachers in training to use technology, we do not have insight into the amount or quality of the teachers usage once back in the classroom. Also we find in some cases that there is not appropriate training and that funds are delivered in ways that are not effective. How can we understand the amount and quality of teaching with technology that happens after teacher training?


Esta es una descripcion de la situación problemática. Que tipo de personas desempeñaría mejor su mision si este problema se solucionara?

Quienes mejor desempeñarían su misión serian los educadores. Tambien quienes motiven a los educadores. La problemática es que muchos docentes ya usan tecnologías pero no sabemos para que las usan. De que sirve enseniarles si no la usan. Muchas veces hay dinero para capacitar pero estas inversiones son desaprovechadas. Mejorar el desarrollo profesional y entrenamiento de los docentes partiendo de un marco de trabajo formando una comunidad profesional de aprendizaje entre docentes. Conocemos como se ensenia con tecnología, y podemos enseniarlo pero como hacemos para que se use?

Summary of the Proposed Solution - Resumen de la solucion propuesta

The idea is to develop a technological tool that measures the ability of teachers to work with technology with their students. For example, a translation of the UNESCO standards is a technological tool to measure the ability of teachers to teach with technology and a strategy to motivate the teacher. For example, a rubric with which the teacher evaluates him or herself, and demonstrates their effectiveness to the community that supports them.

Form a community of teachers who help and work together to help with low costs. Once a community is formed, the challenge is that teachers come into that space, there they have to look for something they want to have, eg. iEARN. One solution is meeting once a week where teachers meet someone who has a problem and someone that has the resolution. But how could they motivate everyone to participate? In that instance, to get those communities that are recognized and give motivation to the teachers?

Teachers say they need, eg. through webinars.

To solve the problem of assessing capabilities of the educator, increasing capacities to teach with technology and using technology for professional development, we use a combination of will:

  • A framework, such as Dr. Nunes' rubrics and tools
  • A network self-ASSESS WHERE educators and share their work
  • Open sharing to allow educators to compare with others themselves
  • On-line Professional Development Opportunities
  • Community and formal Recognition of Teachers and Their level of teaching

We will work together to Identify certifications for educators as well as accomplishment experts working with teachers to seed and bring Into these networks.


Esto deberia proveer un lineamiento de la necesidad basica que resolveria el problema antedicho.

La idea es desarrollar una herramienta tecnológica que mida las habilidades de los docentes para trabajar con tecnológias con sus estudiantes. Por ejemplo, una traducción de los estándares de la unesco o iste a una herramienta tecnológica que permita medir la capacidad del docente para enseniar con tecnología y una estrategia para motivarlo al docente. Por ejemplo, una rubrica con la que el docente se evalue a si mismo, y lo muestres a la comunidad que lo avale.

Formar una comunidad de docentes que se ayuden y colaboren para ayudarse con bajos costos. Una vez formada la comunidad el reto es que los docentes entren a ese espacio, allí hay que buscar tener allí algo que ellos quieran tener y por eso ingresen a buscarlo, por ej. iEARN. Una solución es reuniones de una semana donde se reúne alguien que tiene un problema y otro que tiene la resolución. Pero como hacer que todos se motiven a participar? Y que instancia hacer para lograr que esas comunidades sean reconocidas y esto le de una motivación a los docentes?

Que los docentes digan que necesitan, por ej. a través de seminarios en la web. Haciendo listas de temas.

Technology to solve the problem - Tecnologia para solucionar el problema

What areas of technology you believe have the potential to solve this problem? (Eg mobile devices, social networking, geospatial technology, etc.). As the proposed solution could be used? Networks but with an authority that will watch and evaluate.

Perhaps there is not a technology specifically to solve all but a combination of them. No matter the technology but the energy of the worker.

There are many technologies that can provide the Infrastructure for rubrics, asssessments, and communities Including blogs, forums, web sites and other free tools. The challenge is the "human technology" of gaining participation and creating value at the site for all members.


Que areas de la tecnologia usted considera que poseen el potencial para resolver este problema? (por ejemplo: dispositivos moviles, redes sociales, tecnologia geoespacial, etcetera). Como podria usarse la solucion propuesta? Redes pero con una autoridad que pueda verlo, y evaluarlo.

Tal vez no hay una tecnología que resuelva específicamente todo sino una conjunción de ellas. No importa la tecnología sino la energía de quien trabaja.

Una vez que una potencial solucion ha sido desarrollada, cual es su plan de accion para implementarla? Deberia plantearse como una serie de pasos y metas, preferentemente junto con acciones asignadas a un grupo especifico de personas.

  • Formar comunidades entre países que acuerden una certificación conjunta.
  • Es fundamental un reconocimiento, y un líder por país.
  • Armar seminarios o webinars para compartir, talleres.
