Why Should Sponsors Care About TechCamps
TechCamps convene Civil Society organizations with technology ‘superstars’ to define and develop new technology solutions. By creating a stronger, networked civil society, we preemptively ready response to natural and man-made disasters and increase the digital literacy of social good organizations around the world.
TechCamps are an exciting new innovation in development. By incorporating civil society, the private sector and individual technologists – we spark long term engagement and partnerships around some of the world’s greatest challenges. Jakarta is focused on Disaster Response and Climate Change, Moldova in June is focused on Open Government and Lithuania, also in June will be focused on Internet Technology and Humanitarian Response. We have several others planned throughout the year.

Why Become A TechCamp Sponsor? The benefits of participating in a TechCamp for Corporations and Foundations are two-fold: we provide and facilitate a unique experience in need finding and solutions building, and each organization leaves with a specific set of very do-able actions. In a sense, it is a much more targeted and authentic focus group in country than you would normally get through traditional channels. Secondly, TechCamps open up firsthand opportunities for reverse tech transfer- discovering needs and co-designing them with the customer. Every participant of TechCamps takes home a ‘win’.
How can sponsors participate? Sponsors can participate through in kind donations (software, space, or materials), financial contributions ($1000-$5000) to support the development of an application or technology solution, employee time for training at the event, or employee time for mentoring a civil society organization.
What press is engaged around the event? Local and international newspapers, tech and NGO blogs…
Who are the Participants? A wide swath of social innovators, civil society organizations, NGOs and grassroots organizations from Indonesia that do work around climate change and disaster response and recovery.
