Summary of the Problem

How can we set a stable (24 hours) communication with our target audience? It is hard to maintain stable communication with NGO members and/or project participants (target groups), engage them in the activities and get their feedback. NGO (us), the target group, project beneficiaries will benefit from the resolution of the problem.

Proposed Solution

  • Keep providing information about yourself at large events;
  • Informing the target audiences about NGO activities regularly;
  • Distributing information about NGO activities through unofficial networks, like friends of friends;
  • Social networking;
  • Schedule the sessions of the communication;
  • Conduct contests for the participants (photo, etc.), e.g. if the members/participants live in different time zones.
  • Post news regularly and provide an option for feedback.
  • To provide feedback regularly and timely;
  • Inspire discussion with the information that you post;
  • Involve media to distribute your information.

This should provide an outline of the basic need that would solve the above problem.

Technology to Solve the Problem

Areas of technology that you believe have the potential to solve this problem? (eg mobile devices, social networks, geospatial technology, etc.).

  • Youtube and google+
  • Mobile devices (to collect data and provide immediate feedback) and software like FrontlineSms.
  • Google+ to ask people get comments on videos, broadcasts.
  • Collective blogging, like Blogger, Storify and Tumblr.

Action Plan

  1. Analyze the current situation at NGO, communication system, structure of the target group.
  2. Develop communication strategy for each group: analyze their interests, find best ways for motivation, style and methods of communication, instruments, platforms, technology.
  3. Start using it.
  4. Do it regularly! 
